Maintenance... Comes to mind. My best $200 mod was Prothane bushings but it may cost more than that when you get into it.

High flow cat or cat back? U just mentino header and nothing else, not sure if it comes out to be more than 200 though, unsure of NT exhaust pricing.

Short shifter, makes the n/t funner to drive and shortens the throw quite a bit. Their is no such thing as cheap power for a n/t. My best advice is tighten suspension, new bushings for your shift assembly. As always make sure you're up to date with your maintenances.

agreed, i put a megan short shifter on my eclipse and made my car MUCH more fun to drive, if u get one though make sure you take it to someone thats a very good welder and have them take a inch or so off, trust me you will love it and if i recall it cost under 100$ :thumb:

In my 2g my first mod was a b&m shifter that alone was my fav mod.

If your automatic an external tranny cooler, or a transgo shiftkit. Like others have said, before me save it is a good option. Put it away build it up and start something bigger.

According to some people, you could make about 400whp with that budget.

Trust me on Prothane Bushings. You could do some cheap mods.
1) Fill you stock motor with windo weld (lot less wheel hop)
2) Replace you shifter cable ends (engine side) with roller blade bearings
3) Swap you 2g TB for a 1g and port out intake 52mm vs 60mm (slight acceleration improvement)
4) Strut Tower Brace (tighter front end)

Put it towards a nice brake setup. SS lines and some slotted rotors and hawk pads. That should give you a little extra grab.

This...

And sell back the pointless H.I.D.'s (assuming you haven't retro fitted them) and put the money towards something else, a short shifter for example. (<--Just my opinion btw)
