2.4 Dohc Galant engine in a 2G?

I did a search and could not find the answer I was looking for. So I apalogize in advance.

I currently have a 97 gs-t with a 6-bolt swap in a automatic. The engine developed a realy bad knock. So I decided to pull the engine and go a different route. I found a good engine from a 94 Galant with a 7-bolt Dohc. My question: is the Galant 2.4 dohc head the same as the turbo 2.0 dohc head found in the eclipse? I know the pistons are not the same as the turbo'd version and will need to be replaced. And if there is any other part I need to upgrade as well.

The heads are the same, actually the block is almost identical as well, minus the extra displacement and lack of oil squirters. This is actually a common upgrade known as the 4G64 "stroker" or "big block" motor. I'm not sure if the pistons and rods are the same, but most people go forged on those anyway, the rest is completely useable. In fact you could most like drop the longblock in with no problems for under 400 horsepower or so. The factory 7-bolt rods are a little weak.

Actually the 7g Galant GS 2.4DOHC does in fact have oil squirters.

Can I lower the piston compression to 9.1 or so and run it safely under boost?

I have hks 272's, 255 walbro, 1000 cc pte injectors, hx 35 holset, dsmlink, with speed density. I don't see why I can't swap that to the new set up and install the 2.4 if I upgrade the rods and pistons in the 2.4.

I think I can lower the compression on the bottom end to 8.5 to 9.1 or so and run my old set up and be okay.
