Anyone ever put a 4g64 block out of a 7g galant into a 1g? I recently picked up a 95 galant with the 4g64 in it and was thinking about putting new pistons and rods in it and running it in my 1g but wasnt sure if it would bolt in or if the electrical part would be an issue. I heard that if i use a 2g head, wiring harness along with a 2g ecu it would be possible. I apologize if this has been covered before i tried searching.

Im currently into this exact build. Infact I got my 4G64 from a 95-96 Gallant also. Im gonna use my 1G head and ECU for it though. Its not a hard build.

Im running Eagle rods and Wiesco .20 over pistions with ACR race bearings. Balance shaft elimination and drilled and tapped for oil squirters (for a daily driver). Im using the stock 4G64 crank as its in perfect shape and Im just gonna rebuild my 1G head and slap it right on. All it takes is tuning after that.

My best friend ran 11.90's 5 years ago with this exact build on a 94 gsx auto and a 60-1 turbo 2G MAS and SAFC. Cept he got his 4G64 block from a Hundai. Im even using most of his left over parts after his part out.

What wires plug into the engine block anyway? Build the shortblock, slap on any head you want, stick a 1g cas on it, drop it in and enjoy. All of your factory sensors will work the same.
