stratus 2.4 in a 2g?

Why would you wanna do that????? It will be unwise and alot harder to do than just getting a 4G63T. I dunno much at all about that stratus motor you are speaking of but my gut tells me that it's nowhere near the potential of a 4G63T. Just My opinion.

Anyway. They are two completely different motors so in order to get that 2.4 in your bay you will probably have to do alot of modifying the bay just to install it. Definately sounds not worth it at all.

Don't take this the wrong way but from reading your previous posts. You watch a little too much monster garage. If you have money like that then go for it. But one of the reason's we all love DSM's is because of how cheap it is to make these things really fast. This idea doesn't sound worth even talking about.
 
Funny part of this is TURBO is the fact that it's not that hard to do. Alot of guys over at 2gnt.com have done it and it's nicknamed the "cloud 2.4 dropin" and dosen't take a whole LOT of modifications but it does take some modding to acomplish. Hes going to get alot more BOTTOM END torque doing this swap in his car.

from what i understand all i would have to do is change the tranny brakets and 1 motor mount and use my 420a head
i pulled my head off today and my block is shot so i have to put in another block and i have been told the 4g is alot harder to do then the 2.4 also the compression in the 2.4 is lower which is better for turbo applications i just wanna weigh out all my options b4 i jump into it cuz this is gonna be my fastest car yet i hope

I see someone took me the wrong way, i mean no harm at all.but it's ok. The way I meant it was not to slam like it's impossible or anything. But "GIVEN THE CHOICE" why would you pick that motor over the 4G63T. From what i've read (so i may be wrong) it's alot easier to do, alot cheaper to do and that engine has alot more potential than the stratus. That's all i was saying. But of course who am i?? Go for it... :thumb: and yes that 2.6 is badass
 
well the 4g is supposedly real hard to put into 2g, correct me if im wrong,
ok here are what im seeing as my options now what do you all think
420a rebuilt block
w/turbo
2.4 w/turbo
of these 2 i want the most hp relative to the cost
if i have another i have not consider please feel free to let me know


and by the way i love monster garage
and i like being different i dont want to do the usual thing i realize that is the easiest thing to do

Nah, I knew what you meant it's the :confused: faces that I was like 0o0k maybe he ain't heard alot about this swap. I think alot of people done it because they love their cars and wanna be diff. Face it bro, if everyone just went the easy route and bought the dsm's with the 4g63 in it then what would we be doing?! I dunno about you but I'm not gonna modify a honda! :p

No. your right and personally I agree. The 4g63 is way more worth it and if you get an awd then you got the bonus's we do (no traction problems) so personally I would vote to snatch up a 2g turbo dsm myself. It's not too too hard I guess.. But it's not something I would tackle myself. :thumb:

hondas are what i have always done i just recently got into dsm's but i had a rex that had 412hp at the wheels but did not run real good could not hook up
drag radials=spun almost the whole 1/8
slicks=broken axles
slicks+custom axles=blown tranny
couldnt win
how hard is the 4g63 swap into a 2g from what all you are saying that is my best choice

People aren't saying to swap a 4g63 into your 2nd gen N/T. Your better off turboing your car if anything. I wouldnt attempt that swap for nothing in this world bro, a few people have done it but have ran into problems multiple times. :(

Options:
Fully Build and Turbo your 2gnt
Sell it and buy a 2nd gen GSX/GST (x is better from a stop)
Do the 2.4 stratus swap and then boost that
Boost your stock engine and keep it under 9lbs tuned
