Is it possible.that I might be able to just change the main bearings if the thrust bearing went on such a low mileage motor not sure why went bad but the shop that built it won't stand buy it so gonna just do it myself any ideas why the bearing would go that fast I don't have s really stiff clutch in it is there a problem with acl race bearings or is there better ones to use.
 
What are the best bearings to use in the bottom end of a stroker 2.3.

Are the bearings on a 4g63 crank the same size as a 4g64 crank if they are standard size?

Yes. Just make sure 6 bolts or 7 bolts. Watch out for the redesigned thrust bearing in the 98 and up year.
 
I have eagle steel crank and the one side of the journal for the thrust bearing has a groove in it like the bearing is supposed to sit in it but the bearing is little bigger then the groove what's up with that I looked at the stock crank and it's flat pretty sure this is what made my bearing fail and give the motor crank walk so I don't know is there a different bearing needed that the side of the bearing is allittle smaller in diameter and maybe thicker I can't see the bearing going bad caused this groove.

I looked at the outter piece of the old bearing and it sure looks like once it wore the outter edge down it allowed it to fit in the groove but gave it to much room to move the crank I mean allowed it to move back and forth causing it to eat the bearing.
 
This is the main problem with Eagle products: quality control. Unfortunately for you, you already used the part. Your crank is most likely junk, there should not be a bearing fit problem.
 
Well mine spins fine to with new bearings but once it wears the outter ridge down the side of the bearing fits in the groove on the crank causing to much play in crank back in forth causing it to eat the bearing to fail.
 
Yeah it should definitely not have that ridge there. There is no fix for that besides welding, machining, and straightening, which is probably going to cost more than it's worth.
 
Was supposed to be new crank.How can it be welded and not weaken it?
