I've looked at pretty much all the threads in the stroker section that talk about cams, and the 272's and fp2's look like the most recommended, for low/mid range.

low and midrange is what I'm looking for. not revving over 7k. mostly looking for autocross, road course, and time attack, etc in the future

the engine is being built now.

6 bolt block
6 bolt head lightly ported. Crower valves, single springs, retainers
eagle rods
wiseco .20 pistons (8.5cr)

Turbo will be a holset. He351ve or hx35. power goals are 550-600. just depends on how far low 30's take me. (already have std arp's and dont want to get the L19's)
will be running 93octane and water/meth. might look into e-85

out of the fp2 or 272's which would give the best torque curve

Thanks

He is saying that because they are a combo 264/272, there really is no point of not going straight 272's! I would go with Kelfords they are a little more but they are the most aggressive and best performing 272 I have personally seen.

The 272's or FP2's are suited more for a 2.0L engine. If you are going 2.3L, look into the Kelford 272's, FP4R's, or try to find a set of FP3 or FP4 cams used on the traders. Both were designed around the 2.3/2.4 stroker engine.

Why do these threads always end up being is a stroker! Throw some huge cams in there yo! Most of the people recommending that are not even running a stroker. I have been looking to upgrade my cams for some time. I run a 2.4 with HKS 264's. I had the cams before I had the 2.4. I too want a cam that is going to give me a bit more up top. At the same time alot of these aggressive grinds more the power range higher than I would feel safe reving my 2.4. Plus I LOVE my low end torque and don't want to give it up.

Maybe we could create a thread and sticky it in the stroker section. People can post what cam they use on their strokers. No discussions just a simple I use "x" cam. Maybe a brief discription of how there car performs with said cam.

Sorry I didnt get back to you, thats all I rev to, Im sure it will keep pulling to 8k

Worry about a bigger turbo yo, LOL, before you start changing cams. Those cams you have will feed more than that 16g can throw at them.

Get a set of cams that match your turbo and your set up. I think people are way to eager and lenient to just throw some bigger cams in there. Cams are much too important to just guess.

I ran 264/272 HKS cams on my 2.3. Upon installation I noticed a very noticeable difference in response and within the power-band - all for the better. Sure, 272's straight would have been better but I was very happy with the outcome.

It also sounded nice. :)
