Thoughts...2.3 stroker + HTA68???

To the OP, I don't think you will be disappointed with an MHI housing, and according to English, larger cams (272s or greater) are definately needed with the stroker, even if you have a small turbo. Besides, English is putting down solid numbers (stock car or not) with the stock DSM housing, I see no reason to try and find a t3 housing. You put it best, "... matching up the right parts to ge t the job done."

I am currently finishing a 2.3 / Evo 3 16 (for now) / E85 setup, ill try and post back on this forum with some numbers once English gets her tuned. I decided to go a little crazy on the headwork so it wont be as torque oriented, but I have seen a post of an English car that put down somewhere around ~450 ft/lbs of torque with a HEAVILY modified evo 3 setup, I feel that is way to much torque and decided to build the head to try and leave room to grow / in hopes of reducing the torque.

Lastly, to illustrate what I have learned about the head and your setup (through research for my own vehicle) is, higher volumes of air is definately a good thing for horse power, but for torque, you can't beat air velocity. It would seem that the strokers can handle extra air, but for that torque you and I want, a 2g head is probably the better option. I have chosen to utilize the 2g head but build around higher flowing head components, an odd mix, but I am hoping to walk a fine line with it, FWIW. At any rate Ill follow this thread and post back, the car is only a set of pistons away from completion, I'd expect a month. Good luck!

I just noticed you are planning on stroking a GS-t, have you considered the traction issues you are going to experience with it? Im not telling you how to live your life, I just see alot of traction issues due to the torque a stroker / hta68 will produce for you, food for thought.

im glad you and i are on the same page ;). your setup seems (to me) perfect for what your goals are! i look forward to seeing how yourset up does and i hope it doesnt run out of steam up top. it will be interesting to see forsure. i know its going in a gs-t with ultimate goals of going awd. i do have a avcr which should help because of boost by gear. its still going to blow the tires off for sure but it will do for the time being...

Got ya, im sure you will have fun fwd or awd regardless! Im dying to see what she has... Ill be sure to dig this thread up and post some numbers. Hopefully it wont be dissappointing, until then, good luck with your build!

To the OP and anyone else who is interested, the car is done. It made 400/400 the larger intake mani didnt help, but i used it for future expansion so no big deal, I kinda expected it. It hits full boost (29 psi) by ~3700 rpm, and I highly doubt without slicks on a fwd it would be much fun, unless of course you want a burnout machine! Pm / see my profile for more info!

Good to hear you reached your goal. My setup is about the same; evo3 turbo and intake mani, E85, 2.3L ,FP3s; and I am experiencing similar results even though it is an automatic. 36lbs/min @ 20 psi, full boost at 3600rpm
