I'm pretty new on drivetrain diagnosis. I have a slight grind at around 7000RPM 2-3. Sometimes it goes it good, other times it doesn't. I've also noticed my shifter does not sit straight up and down, it seems to be tilted towards the drivers side. So I kind of need to guide it to third gear. Not sure if it is related.

It does not ever grind from 4-3 shifting no matter what RPM. I read maybe shifter cables? Possibly a syncro (that would suck). I just ordered shifter bushings a few days ago but I doubt they will do anything for this.

Stock shifter cut down a touch by previous owner.

Well 6500ish I guess. Wherever I shift when I'm going fast haha.

It's weird that it's intermittent though. It will do it then not do it a few times then do it once.

If it's only 2-3 it could POSSIBLY be clutch drag. I'd check it just to play safe.

Try this method. Proper Clutch Adjustment - YouTube

This should be your first step, if this solves it then great. If not we have one more thing eliminated.

I watched the video, and tried the rev to 7K rpm thing, and right at 7k my car slightly moved forward in first with the clutch in, I'll be adjusting it tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

aside from clutch drag (main culprit though) cold fluid from winter, bad fluid or fwrong fluid can all cause these too.. and besides jack's vid on adjust ment, could be a warped PP

I have 2000km old Redline MT-90, I put it in to attempt to eliminate this problem per recommendation from previous threads I read on this site. Would a warped PP be intermittent? It's done it in the warm temps. Come to think of it, I don't think its done it to me since it got cold (granted I haven't driven very hard at all).

The new fluid made the trans feel a lot better fwiw.

Thanks for the help!
