You need better help than this section can really provide. I'm not sure why this hasn't been moved yet. I reported it over a week ago to get it moved into the section you need it in.

I'm sorry you're still have difficulties.

Yes, as I described in your DSMLink forums post, you could potentially have one part in your combination of AWD parts with the wrong final drive ratio. You need a matching trans to transfer case (95-96 trans w/ 91-96 Tcase and 95-99 5-speed rear diff OR 97-99 trans w/ 97-99 Tcase and 95-99 5-speed rear diff) and rear diff. You could have either the wrong ring gear tooth count on the front diff not matching the tooth count for the transfer case or you have an auto rear diff installed.

Ok, so I got the numbers off the tranny and the rear end. Just so I dont perceive myself as a complete dumbass, I did get all these drivetrain parts off of one 95 gsx. The # on the transmission is W5M332WPGE. After some searching most of the threads that come up pertain to an evo 1-3 tranny. One site did say that W5M332 = turbo awd, 4g63, GVR4 and Evo 1-3.
I have replaced the transfer case already with a 23 spline 95 transfer case so that is certain.

The rear diff tag reads Viscous LSD BFH, and the last three numbers read 545. After some searching, it looks like it should read 3.545.
I am going to assume that the rear end is a 95 manual lsd rear end. It looks like it has not been replaced. And the donor 95 gsx was a manual. The guy I bought it from did say he had replaced the tranny so I guess there is the problem.

Is there a link someone could post to tell exactly what kind of tranny I have?

And the now burning question is what the hell should I do about this?? What kind of options do I have? I would really like to keep the tranny if at all possible. Am I gonna have to pick up an evo transfer case, or whats all this ring gear tooth count business? Can I swap an evo rear end in this bad boy or swap something into mine?
Thanks for all the help thus far, Tim and Piper. I really appreciate it.

Edit: I just looked at vfaq.com and saw that a 2g awd mt rear end ratio of 3.545 and the evo/gvr4 rear end ratio are the same. Can anyone confirm that the transmission I have is an evo/gvr4?

Your transmission has the wrong final drive gearset in it. You need a 95-99 output pinion shaft and a 95-96 front diff ring gear with 58 teeth. Your current final drive uses a different pinion gear and a 64-tooth ring gear causing your problems.

I can now finally say the issue is Fixed!! Indeed the ring gear did have 64 teeth. I swapped it out with the a 95 dsm ring gear and pinion shaft and whala!! It really wasnt that bad to swap it out either. After I took the tranny out and pulled the cases off it was right there. Unbolted it and slapped the new one in. Thank you to all that have helped me through this process, especially Piper and Tim. Here's a shot just for eye candy.

Be sure to use the DSM speed sensor if there is anything funky going on with the dash display; the Evo 2/3 used two different sensors that had either a yellow or a pink speedo gear. You should be fine as I recall it being a plastic-bodied 1G-style cable-driven sensor.

Glad to hear you got it all handled! BTW, the gearset is Evo 3 by the markings on the 1st gear, input shaft, 3rd and 4th, the 3/4 hub and slider and the steel 1/2 and 3/4 shift forks.

You put back ALL of the front diff ring gear bolts correct? Just making sure.... :)
