2.1 need advice on cams

Since the 2.1L is a higher revving motor and you already have upgraded valve springs, you might as well go with some 280s.

I've heard good things about Kelford 272s as well. They are supposed to be almost as aggressive as BC 280s. :talon:
 
so something like the fp3x from forced performance would fit my needs? if so i have a friend that has some he is willing to sell mea , i have a butcher crank from ffwd ptt clutch and lightweight pulleys this thing will rev like a crotch rocket
 
The FP3X cams are designed for stroker engines with lower than stock rod/stroke ratio. Your 2.1L is destroked with higher than stock rod/stroke ratio. So that would be a "no".

A camshaft's job is to open and close the valves at the right places in the piston travel. However, a camshaft has no idea where the pistons are, only the crankshaft angle. If the cam is in an engine with the rod and stroke it was designed for all is well.

If the rod/stroke ratio is different from the cam's design the valves will open and close at different places from the design sheet. That's the reason for the existence for the FP3X cams. They were designed for stroker engines with 100mm stroke and stock rods.

The piston position v. crankshaft angle of the 2.1L is very close to the stock 2.0L so stick to cams designed for a high revving 2.0L
