I have a 98 Eclipse Spyder GS, it has a 4g64 in it and it’s a 5 spd. Someone told me that almost everything on a 2.0 Eagle Talon bolts right up to the 4g64 (NOTE: NOT a 4g63t). I was curious if anyone knew anything about this?

That is true. The 4g64 block is basically identical to the 4g63t. I think the deck height is a little different. Maybe the bore too, i really cant remember. The 4g64 is actually a stout engine to start with. I had a GS spyder back in the day that I turboed the stock engine by bolting on 4g63t stuff. You could do a dohc head swap as well.
Back in the day a friend had a gs spyder, done a dohc head swap, pistons/rods, magnus intake, cams, fmic, big fuel system, gt35r, awd swap. Done 700 to the wheels. This was back in the early / mid 2000s. Was a fun car.

Yep. It’s 6mm taller and bores are 86.5mm(or 87. It’s either one, 95% sure it’s 86.5 though).

But, you have a ton of research to do OP. It’s possible to turbo the 4G64 in stock form but it requires some work and knowledge that shouldn’t be spoon fed to you. Super easy info to find.

So say I wanted to turbo it, break down the steps you would take before turboing it. What should I upgrade and could I just take the turbo off a gst or a Eagle talon and bolt it up? I assume it isn’t that easy

As crackedDSM stated, best for you to do your own research on here first. It's the more challenging route, but getting answers from us without you doing the research and learning as much as you can on your own inevitably leads to more questions, greater potential for mistakes, frustration, and wasted time. Learn what you can first and we'll be happy to fill in the blanks and smooth out the rough spots.

Will do thank you man!! It’s been a struggle finding answers and parts for this car 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Will continue to peak around

It depends on if your talking about a Talon with a 2.0 nt engine or a Talon with a 2.0 turbo engine in it, the 2.0 non turbo engine has nothing that will bolt on to the 4g64, only the 2.0 turbo 4g63 has any parts that can work on the 4g64 2.4 engine thats in the Spyder.
