2.0 6 bolt oil pan do you have to mod it to use it on 2.4 6 bolt?

Somebody is trying to say you have to mod with hammer or something a 6 bolt oil pan to use on my 6 bolt 2.4 engine. I can see it on the 2.0 to 2.3 conversion but didnt' think you have to do anything on the 2.4 engine but bolt it on.
Am I wrong or right?

what the heck they show some pic of the crank hitting the pan ..? So no noise from your crank hitting your oil pan..I assume you just used a 6 bolt oil pan?

And what timing wheel do I use..heard someone say they used a 91 and timed it and it was out they had to use a 93 94 or something it was a bit confusing.

Umm actually saw pic of rod bolts think hitting the pan..mabye just stock rod bolts?

And ok to put my knock sensor in manifold lower support hole.. not using man support on my jm fab intake.
And still confused what timing plate to use

I know the website that has that pic of oil pan hitting the crank..
However, on my 2.3L, I am using the stock 6-bolt oil pan, and did not have a problem.

For my knock sensor, I use the threaded hole in the block between cylinder 2 and 3 closer to the top of the deck. I still have stock intake manifold, so I need the lower support hole for the bracket.

Good luck on your build-up.

I am nearly finished up my 2.4 build. I used a 6 bolt oil pan and it doesn't seem to need any clearancing.I don't hear any hitting and the crank spins around very smoothly.

I think if you use a 1g 7 bolt pan you may have the problem.I used my donor 91 6 bolt pickup tube with leg cut off and the 1g 6 bolt pan.
Will use 6 bolt dipstick and distick tube to keep things matching.

It is possible depending on the type of rods used. I've seen this occur mostly with Eagle rods on 2.3 engines. The rod cap tends to tap the windage tray and you have to bend it a little so that it doesn't hit. The funny thing is that I've thought in the past that I could get away without bending the pan because it would spin freely by hand but as soon as the motor started running for a while I could hear a little tapping. At first I thought it was lifter tick until I pulled the pan (for something totally unrelated) and saw the marks on the windage tray.

Unlrelated to it being a 4G64, my 6 bolt oil pan had to be banged out a little to clear ARP main studs, but was fine with rods and rod bolts.

Anyone know if that Moroso oilpan for the 1gen 6 bolt, will fit on the G4CS? Thanks, just picked a 2.4 2G up so, just curious...saw it and havent really seen one w/ it though? Thanks.
