1st Gen Plymouth Laser help.

hey i just have a quick question. Im looking to buy a new 1st gen plymouth laser rs non turbo, and was wondering later on, could i take another 1st gen DSM 4G63T and drop that into my non turbo laser. are the motor mounts in the same place in both trims of 1st gen dsm. any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello fella,

As for your post, If you are "looking " to buy a dsm, in your case a laser, why not buy a factory turbo'd one. The money and modifications that you would be spending in swapping a 4g63t would be signifcantly more then just buying a turbo'd dsm.

As for the exahust, if you do choose to go non turbo, i would recomend a 2 1/4 inch exhaust. I say this because i had a 2.5 on my eagle talon n/t and it sounded like poop, I have heard the smaller exhaust and it sounds worlds better.

If you buy into a turbo dsm, i Personally run a vrs 3 inch turbo back exhaust, and I love the sound, pretty much all exhaust sound really good on turbo dsm. a popular choice is the apexi n1 exhaust, sounds good, looks good.

Yes it can be done, ive done it, and it was a pain. Best off leaving it NT and having a DD or backup.

have you just turbo'd the non turbo 2.0? I wanna try to get to 200hp, just ### this car is clean and it would be pretty unique around where i am to have a pretty quick non factory turbo'd dsm

They can be a screamer with the right devices installed from the factory. Mine has the Galant VR-4 motor and the B16/G turbo ... it kinda boogies along on the freeway real good.

It can be done doing the turbo conversion, but plan on putting dough into the project.

hummm, the RS Lasers are Turbo cars. wondr if the engine was changed or turbo removed or what the deal is. i had an HKS Titanium TI and it sounded great. well it was too loud but those that like loud 4 bangers said it was excellent. i like the quiter, sleeper exhausts
