Figured i'd log a 3rd gear as my first pull. All mods in profile are up to date, but i am sitting on base maps, running rich, and pushing way too much boost for tuning. Figured i'd post this up here until i get my username and password for the dsmlink.com forums from the previous owner. Any suggestions or problems you can spot right off the bat? Should i have pulled at WOT, instead of about 3/4? i really need to get into school so i can read this stuff like a book ROFL
Peak HP: 312
peak torque: 288lbs
peak knock: 3.9 deg
22.9lbs boost
AF at peak HP was 9.95:1

You should always go WOT if your trying to get accurate logs of what it's going to do. HP and TQ numbers on link are more of guidelines and you don't actually use them to tune with. You should be much more concerned with timing, knock, and afr. Although link does a fairly decent job of approximating afr's it's not exact, get yourself a WB02, it'll be one of your best investments.

Overall, go get one at WOT and post the actual log file. Until then, can't really say to much about it.

yea the highest throttle pos i went was 56%, i'll be sure to play with it some more tomorrow and get a nice WOT log. anything i should be logging in particular other than knock, retard, timing, rpm, front 02, and A/F?

WOW, i've seriously spent the last 2 hours on that site. That guy's 1g is incredible. From the 4g64 block down to the AEM brakes, that car is immaculate. So much information on it as well, love it.

um I would be a little concerned about that much knock dude.

Definitely, i hope i can work most of it out tomorrow morning. I maxed out at 11 counts, 3.9 degrees at 6078rpm and 57% throttle. Injector duty was at 92.4% (FIC 650cc) BUT i haven't adjusted the injector size, altitude etc that was mentioned in post 4. So i'm guessing its thinking i'm on stock injectors right now? I should up the fuel and maybe lower the boost a little bit, correct? I'll get everything squared away tomorrow and pull a big fat WOT 3rd gear run and go from there. I've actually yet to ever hit WOT in this car and i'm not really looking forward to doing it on base maps. To be safe, should i set the boost lower, maybe to 15psi?

Read the DSM Timing Page on my site so that you understand why 1G's seem to knock at 6000 RPM all the time.

I would leave the boost level the same, but I would definitely back down the timing around 3 degrees around 6000 RPM and any other RPM levels where you are knocking. Post a full WOT 3rd gear log after retarding the timing a bit.

If you haven't changed the global or deadtime settings then it wil think you are on stock injectors. Put your global at -31% and deadtime at 315 before doing anything else. The altitude is so Dsmlink can give you an estimate of your air/fuel ratio. If you don't have a wideband I would get one. It will make tuning much easier but you can tune without one.

Alright, set up my global and deadtime settings and pulled 6 WOT runs, adjusting the timing after each one. How would i go about loading the .dat files?

edit: pulled 17 total, finally got the knock count as low as i could. .4 deg of knock between 3784 and 3914 rpm and another .4 deg between 5682 and 5589 rpm (revs dropped the higher i went). I actually advanced the timing to eliminate the early 3k rpm knock, and cut back the tiiming as much as i could to lower it. When i went too low, the knock shot up to ~11 counts. What's the next step in tuning after eliminating knock?

Least knock recorded so far:
