I got all of the body molding off of a 1Gb TSi and I need a little help getting it to fit on my Laser.

Is there another vent that goes in the TSi molding in the hole that I circled? On the car now the vent is made in to the old molding, which has to come off to put the new one on. Is there a vent filler to go in the hole?

I was also wondering if maybe somebody here did this mod before and has a template of this piece and the door molding that I could get to help drill the holes in the body for the molding clips? The old trim glues on and the new one clips on.

Right now I'm looking around junkyards for those vents. The 1Ga Laser molding vents are actually a seperate piece, which is great since the Talon vents can screw right in the same holes - less drilling. The only problem is no junkyard has these cars. I've called / been to at least 10 so far and today I FINALLY found one with a 94 Talon DL, but the molding is different. Nobody else has had ANY 1g DSM.

I also have a 1993 Eclipse base model (parts car). On that one the vent is made right in to the molding, but its the perfect size to fit in the TSi molding. The molding on the DL that I looked at today was the same as the Eclipse. If worst comes to worse (can't find a TSi vent and if they're discontinued from Mitsubishi/Eagle) I'm going to try to cut out the vent from the Eclipse molding.

I also have a pretty good idea of how to find the right places to drill for the clips but I'm not totally positive it'll work yet. I'll get back here and explain it if it works.

a friend did this to his 90 talon and in my opinion it looked absolutly horrible. just doesnt look right or clean in any way.

What do you mean it won't line up with anything? I'm putting a 1Gb Eclipse rear bumper on it and that seems like it'll line up good. I just don't know about the front since I dont' have the nose all together yet.

can I get more detail on how it looks wrong or horrible?

like it said in my opinion it looked horrible and didnt take any pictures because i thought it looked so bad, he did the sides skirts and door caps, rear bumper and light. 1gb front wont work with a 1ga

I looked at it last night trying to find problems with it and there are a few small lines that don't match up, but you don't notice them unless you're specifically looking for them. But I'm starting to have second thoughts on the molding now because I want to go with silver on the bottom, about up to where the line in the molding is, then black for the rest of it, but the line isn't straight and you'll definately see it.

I know 1gb front bumper wont' work on a 1ga. I was originally gonna convert the whole nose over but I got it all on and realized I didn't like the look as much so I had to swap it all back.

pj91gsx, I'll PM you once I decide what I'm doing.
