Well I like how the bumper flows but absolutely hate the tail lights. anyone seen this done but keeping the stock 1ga taillights?

I want it to look something like this ignore the ### double wing

EDIT:

I haz 1ga. I wantz 1gb. Has it been done? If so pics?

Edit Here is a better idea of what I am talking about. Done 2 ways. First way I like better but it has more issue to address I think. Not sure how low exactly it would hang if mounted like that, also would need to figure a way to fill in the gap.

Second way seems to be way to high and would not give me what I really am after I.E. something that wraps around the exhuast tip

Those taillights aren't different because it's a 1gb, they're different because it's not a Talon.

That bumper is a 1ga eclipse gst bumper. Or it could be a 1ga laser rst. The 1gbs look different. There are several bumpers to choose from on a 1g. The 1gbs require some modification to fit the tail lights just a little cutting at the corner where the tail lights meet the quarter panel.

That is also an EDM bumper see the lights on the bottom of the bumper.

Because something like means exactly like.. I know which bumper that is I was wondering if anyone had done the 1gb talon bumper on a 1ga talon.

I want the bumper with the exhuast molding and vent holes in the bottom, but not the ghey bubble taillights. Was wondering it it had been done, looks like you could by trimming the 1gb bumper a bit.

Well I assumed that you wanted the bumper in the picture and that isn't a 1gb Talon bumper.

The talon bumper will not work with those tail lights. You will have a gap in the center. The eclipse will but I do not like those bumpers. You may have to get hangers for a 1gb to get the exhaust moved up if it still hangs lower.

I now see the problem with your chop. You can not cut the top off the 1gb bumper. Line the top of the b bumper with the bottom of the red tail lights, and thats what it will look like. If I had the soft ware i would show it to you.

Thats what I did in the first picture. It looks like the only way to accomplish this would be to mold in the center section somehow.

Bah if it hangs right I wonderhow it would look with some wire mesh behind there. Would rather keep the stock 2ga bumper and look for one of those eclipse bumpers with the exhuast molding than go to ricerish.

No the first picture is wrong b/c it has two talons. The b bumper in that pic is to low.

The mesh idea could work. You can buy it at home depot or lowes and paint it black. You may also have to paint the area behind the opening black to hide the factory color.

if you have a 1ga talon you have to cut piece of metal the bumper mounts too, so that the 1gb bumper will fit. also the 1gb center section fits the 1ga light with the 1gb bumper

Cool sounds like I have a few options on how to go about this mod. I may attempt it this winter will keep this thread updated as I go about it.

Really would like to keep the entire 1ga tailight assembly but, would rather have it look decent and have the 2gb center piece than look like crap with the 1ga center and wiremesh.

It's more work than it's worth to keep the 1ga tails. It's pretty straight forward doing the conversion. I did it on my 91 Talon:

The biggest bi*** is you gotta solder in the rear end harness from the 92-94 Talon.

1gb taillaights look 1,000x better than the 1ga! :)

If your into bubbly and ###, Yeah they looks pretty bubbly and ###. I prefer the sleak and angular look of the 1ga. The tail lights and head lights on the 1gb just #### it all up. If the damn headlights didnt remind me so much of a 90s tbird I might own one.
