1g tubular header on 2gb

Hey guys, i'm looking at buying this hx-35 turbo but he wants to sell his whole setup off of his 1st gen. it already has a 3" downpipe that is a t4 style exhaust flange, just needs an o2 bung welded. sooo, my real question reguards the tubular header he is selling attached to the turbo. will it bolt up evenly to a 2nd gen or no? minor fab work involved? would appreciate any useful info, thanks much guys!!

Exhaust flange will be the same and shouldn't require any modifications. The only thing I can think of is if they ran the runners towards the passenger side and that could interfere with the upper radiator hose on a 2g.

i have a K&N oversized radiator. the only reason i mention this is because i don't remember seeing the hose you are referring to. So the exhaust ports should be the same if not larger on the 1g header?

The upper radiator hose is the hose that connects to the tstat. 2g's have the hose entering towars the middle of the radiator up top.

As for size, both 1g and 2g heads have the same sized exhaust ports unless one of them was ported.

I think he is more concered with the down pipe fitting properly... With that said, the downpipe is the only thing that looks like it will have to be modified to work on a 2g awd or fwd...

what's wrong with the link?
the downpipe is a custom 3" which would free up some flow a little i would think.

downpipes for 1g and 2g are different and same goes for FWD and AWD, so you would most likly have to modify the downpipe to fit your GST

In what fashion would i have to modify? can i not weld it to the pipe i already have that bolts to my current o2 housing? i know for sure i will have to weld an o2 bung on his dp but everything below my o2 housing is 3"

The downpipe and 02 housing are welded together on this setup.. On a 2g fwd it will be going a different angle after it makes the turn under the oil pan. So you will have to cut and weld your downpipe to that downpipe right behind the flex section, and you will have to run a 1g oil filter

Yes sir. I had to do the same when i went to a 3in O2 housing. They screw right on, The only difference is a 2g is long and skinny ,and the 1g is short and fat. so the downpipe can clear the oil filter.
