1g transfer case in 2g talon

I have a 96 talon tsi and the transfer case went dry and its a 23 spline, I found a 1g 23 spline transfer case and I want to know if its compatible with my car as in the gear ratio and driveline, and if it will bolt right up.

91-96 have 23 spline and are interchangeable(manual or auto have different mounting on case though). 97-99 have 23 spline also but different gear ratio. As long as your not removing it from a 1990 or 2gb car, you will be fine.

Yes, as phantom said a 1g 23 spline transfer case should work in 96 as long as its from the same type of trans (manual if yours is a manual or auto if yours is auto)

Thank you for the helpful responses, I went to go pick up the transfer case today but it turned out that the sellers case was a 22 spline and not the 23 spline case
