Synchromesh in Transfer case

Not sure it this is the right forum for this, but I feel a little embarassed to ask this, so...
I have been using just a castrol gear oil for the thousand or so miles I've put on this transmission since the rebuild. I decided to refill it with Pennzoil Syncrhomesh and bought a few quarts which I also filled my transfer case up with. My question is will I cause damage by using this in my transfer case? Is it too thin?

Search man. I don't know if it's bad for it, I doubt it is. MTL-90 is what goes in the transfer case.

I'm not sure if that'll hurt it - but you would probably want something thinker if you can - while I'm running BG Syncroshift in my tranny, I've got Redline Shockproof in my transfer case & rear end. (works great, smells like burnt cat fur though)

I use it in my tranny and transfer case and I've not had any complaints or problems out of it actually.

Aah, I hate the smell of burnt cat fur. I remember back in the day we use to shave all our cats and throw the hair into the furnace for no reason. It's like when you go into an apartment building and you smell everyones cooking, that plus crap.

How the hell do you know what that smells like?

Yes, Synchromesh is fine in T-cases.
