1G Trans in a 2G?

A friend of mine needs a new trans in his 95 FWD TSI. Another friend of mine has a 1G FWD trans for sale. Readers Digest version of the story: Will the FWD 1G trans bolt up in place of his FWD 2G trans?

nope... 2g's have 3 tranny mounts 1 engine mount. 1g's have 3 engine mounts 1 tranny mount.

Are you sure about that? I thought that there might be a difference in the bolt pattern on the bellhousing, but that's it. Anyone else have some input?
