1g throttle body 2g intake manifold??

So my friend has a spare 1g throttle body and wants to kow if there will be any gians in performance if he ports his 2g manifold fr a 1g throttle body, has any one done this and ntoiced any good out of it...?
 
Along the lines of this TB swap from 2G to a 1G...it does seem that some 2G TBs have 3 vac ports and some have 2. Mine has 2 and the factory service manual shows 2 in the routing diagram. The RRE article shows a 2G TB with 3. Does anybody know how this translates? Since I have only 2 where would the 3rd one come from and does it mean that I need to cap 2 on the 1G? Oh yeah, it's a 99GSX.

I tried putting a 1g tb on my 2g. I had bad results. When I would start the car my idle would be around 2700 and stay there for about 1 minute. Then it would drop down to 1500 then after 10 minutes or so it would go down to 750 rpm. I put on my 2g tps and tried adjusting it numerous times. I replaced the tb gaskets twice. And still no results. Also when I got into high rpms while driving and pushed the clutch in it would sometimes die. I went back to my 2g and I havnt had any problems.
 
You HAVE to use the 2G TPS.
Did you PROPERLY adjust you 2G TPS???
You HAVE to use a multimeter to do this, and if you do it wrong you get results like yours.

Did you check your shaft seals?
Did you try RTVing the gaskets??
DID YOU DO A BOOST LEAK TEST AFTER INSTALLING THE 1G TB???

What did you do with the 1g TB?

Your making me think of getting a 1g TB now LOL. Although I would get the JMF intake mainfold with it instead of porting it out. I would rather get it done once then do it mulitiple times!
 
i jus got a 2g IM for 10 bucks on ebay...i plan on porting it....and after reading this thread i think ill start looking for a 1g TB...

but im sure ill have questions about the install...
