Have a 95 Talon Tsi AWD with a 6-bolt almost installed. I want to know if a 2G TB will fit on a 1G intake manifold? I know they are smaller, but I have found a ported (60mm) one for a decent price and just want to make sure it will work. I'm not around the car until the weekends or I'd slip on the 2G myself to check it.
Thanks,
MM

I actually did the same thing on my 2g with a 6-bolt because money was running low. I have yet to find out if it works (hopefully be done with the car this weekend)but it bolts up and the throttle cable hooks up just fine. And it makes hooking vaccum lines up much easier. The studs and bolts are too long for the 2g TB so you have to use some sort of spacers, I found rollerblade bearings work well for this. The transistor mount makes a good spacer as well, I mounted the transistor right on top of the TB elbo facing the passenger side. Ill post pics of it later.

You can put a 1G TB on a 2G intake, but you can't put a 2g TB on a 1G intake.
Please state why.
If the 1G will fit the 2G mani (which we know it will since that is a popular upgrade), then the bolt hole pattern will be the same. So why not?

m1nd64m3: let me know how it goes, I need to get mine ordered early next week.

I read on the site that it wouldn't work, but may have been bad info. Let us know what you find out.

it will fit. of course the stock bore is smaller, but you've already addressed that issue. the only issue I can think of is with the closed throttle switch, since it's a separate switch on the 1G but part of the TPS on the 2G. more of a wiring issue I guess.

The 1G TPS has only three wires while the 2G has four
So I'm guessing the person that said it was talking more about plug and play.

A little wire splicing and it should work I reckon.

no spliceing need'd - u would just use the 2g TPS + ISC

The fitment was the issue or question really. As stated, this is a 6-bolt swap so I have all of 2G hook-ups on the harness. If you swap the 1G head/intake you are susposed to use the 91-94 style TB so that you can swap your 2G sensors over to it.

Thanks guys for your help.

Here is the 2g throttle body on a 1g intake, as you can seee I used some spacers for the studs on the intake because of how much thinner the 2g TB is, oh and the transistor mount is the other spacer.
