I was wondering how much hp or psi can u get from swapping a 1G Tb onto a 2G?

use search button, they arent compatible. search the forum for the jeep tb mod. its been well discussed for a long time

it is compatable, i have seen it done

vfaq.com i think has a thing on it you need to port out the area where it bolts to the intake manifold to see any gains.

i would guess like 5 hp, its not a mod i would really do... but you can, just takes time

i recomend keeping your tb elbow though

i thought the manifolds were different botl paterns.

the 2 intake manifolds are different apereance, and i was almost sure they were different botl paterns.

Yeah i already read the tech articles, it say it is done. It has been done. I would just like to know what gains I will get out of this. The article does not say. Just asking the people that have had this done. It says that it has to come off a 91-94 model in order to fit a 2G with of course some porting done to the 2G elbow and manifold.

na90, the jeep TB is for the 420a or 2GNT guys.

for a 2g turbo, the 1g TB does work and is larger. quite a bit larger. you'll have to open up the manifold opening but other than that its just going to eliminate a restriction just like upgrading the UICP. its a good thing to do but don't expect miricles.

Thank you Leitnin for giving me some infor, but I'm all ears for more information. I should have put I had a 2G turbo, but it says it on my profile.

ahh, the best reasons to fill out your profile info. so people can help clear things up or in general answer your questions.

I would offer you more info, but i myself ported my intake manifold (while the engine wasn't in the car) but then never got around to installing the 1g TB. ive got one sitting in the garage though and it'll go in after lots of other things that need to happen.

im assuming you know you need the 4 vaccume port tb and all of that.

as far as HP or psi, the amount of pressure you run from your turbo really shouldn't be changed because you swap the throttle bodies. thats a function of turbo efficiency and fuel delivery. for a stock t-25 turbo, you don't really want to run any more than 15 psi, or maybe 16 at the most (after a fuel pump rewire)

you really need to be careful when upping the boost because it may make the car faster (till the turbo is no longer efficient around 15-17 psi) but it will raise temperatures and other factors that lead to engine damage. or ruin the turbo if you have a boost leak (which would mean you see 15 psi at the intake manifold on the aftermarket boost gauge you should have, but the turbo is really pushing 18 or so, and killing itself)

look for a tiny bit more power, and better throttle response. your really just eliminating a 52mm bottleneck.
