1g speed density

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but I think this is the only forum I can post in.


On a 1g with a stock intake manifold, where can I set up my map sensor for SD? Should I mount it to the firewall and just run a hose to it? It is there a better way?

If you're running a AEM MAP sensor you can drill/tap the IM and thread it right into it, which is preferred but not necessary. You can also mount it and run a vacuum line from the MAP sensor to a pressure source on the IM, you want the line to be as short as possible though.

You can mount it to the firewall. Having the shortest possible vacuum line running to it is the best practice.

I have mine bolted right on top of intake mani right next to where the bov hose connects.

thanks for the pics, i wished i would of asked this before dropping the motor in. its going to be a nightmare to try and tap the IM installed in the car. I'm going to mounted like the second pic.

...you wouldn't want to tap it with it installed on the car anyway, even if there was room to do it. Drilling/taping it would leave metal shavings inside there that would find their way into your motor, probably not a good idea.
