I happen to post about being on the hunt for a FULL polyurethane rear motor mount insert for a 2g. Someone had told me they used the 1g rear prothane motor mount insert. He also sent me some pictures to verify. Can i get some verification, he doesnt seem to be 100% sure if it was a front or rear 1g mount that he used.

I was told maybe it was the front insert from a 1g that fits perfect in a 2g rear. He is going to clarify for me today. I dont know how this has never been brought up. This would be a break through for me and many other 2g guys. I have the dimensions of a gutted 2g mount, i need the dimensions from a 1g front and rear mount inserts!!!

I got some measurements today. It is 2.8 (diameter) by 1.5 (the width of mount). I need some measurements of a 1g front and 1g rear motor mount prothane inserts to see if this will fit! Please guys, i know someone needs to have one of these in their shop that they can measure. This would be sweet for us 2gers. OMG

1g front (roll stopper they're properly called): 2.78" diameter and 1.5" wide
1g rear roll stopper: 2.78" diameter and 1.65" wide

Probably either one could be made to fit but the 1g rear is a two-piece design so it would be a bit easier to install it. I'm not sure why the front one is a one piece design?

Wow, that's exactly what it measured out to be with my caliper, but I figured someone would be using a tape measure or something LOL. So looks like I will be using the 1g rear mount insert in my 2g. HOW HAS THIS NEVER BEEN BROUGHT UP?!?!?! INSTEAD OF THOSE AWFUL 2G INSERTS. I will update when I get them installed. And thank you very much.

Just wanted to update for you guys. This is a 2g rear mount with the 1g REAR prothane insert. It fit snug (didnt need a vice or press or anything). It does stick out VERY LITTLE. I had some urethane laying around so i put a little on so i could be sure it would stay in place. I have done 3 or 4 launches and many pulls and it is just like it was when i put it on. THIS IS A GREAT MOD AND I STILL CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY THIS HAS NEVER BEEN MENTIONED. I don't know why prothane doesnt just use this same part for their 2g rear mount instead of their junk inserts. Hope this helped :hellyeah: :hellyeah:

someone here at dsm tuners makes full prothane inserts. but this looks alot easier and more cost effective. i'm going to give it a try.

Black_gst is his name and he does make them for the front and rear roll stops. I have them and they are amazing!!

Yes, they are nice quality. But this is just a much more cost effective. Plus there is no need for a press like there is with Black_gst's inserts.

I would also like to include that the 1g FRONT insert might fit better in the 2g rear mount. Just because it is not as wide as the 1g rear insert. I use the 1g rear insert in my 2g and it was just SLIGHTLY too wide. It still worked perfect, when i say it was slightly too wide, it just sticks out a little bit. I have been running this mount for a little over a month and i LOVE it.

Ninja you ever find out if a 1g mount fits the 2g front roll stop?

Yes it does, I did this as well. I spent like $26 for 2 rear 1g poly mounts (new from summit racing). What I did was pressed the sleeve out of the front mount but left it in for the rear.

I did trim the mounts a tad and thinned them out in the center using a sanding wheel. I did however still have to oil them up and press them in with a vise.

Also you will need to drill the mount brackets bigger and buy 2 bolts to match the center sleeves. (5/8 I believe)

Found it: this is the thread I used when doing mine. Follow this and you will be set.
