I have just acquired a rally built 1990 Eagle Talon. "it ran when I parked it" applies.

So it turns and with starter fluid it will run for a few. Fuel system has 40psi.

When I put my multimeter on the injector plug I get 5.34ish volts. Negative terminal on the battery positive in the plug.

I do believe the previous owner that it ran and he started it every so often. I think this is a ground issue. Maybe something simple.

It was parked because it got stuck in gear. You have to have the clutch in when cranking. He had another project that took priority.

I'm not great at searching forums so if there is a similar thread I apologize and appreciate the help

This article will help explain what is supposed to happen with the ECU and can help you troubleshoot your issue no fuel issue:
1G basic ECU MPI relay circuit function

Getting fuel to the rail is one part of the operation. Sequencing and firing the injectors is another. If the ECU is doing its job, wiring and the injectors themselves become suspect.

If the car is stuck in gear, that’s one thing. But this, by itself, is normal operation for one of these cars. It is a safety feature on manual transmission vehicles to prevent drivers from trying to start the car while in gear. There is a way to bypass the safety, just wanting to provide some clarity in this point.
Thank you for the reply. The stuck in gear thing is...

Thank you for the reply. The stuck in gear thing is it's own issue. Push in the clutch and it turns. That safety feature has been bypassed.

I did get it running. Turns out I missed the simple things. I was measuring the voltage incorrectly and I needed to clean both sides of the injector.

The intake side of the injectors were gummed up. She starts easily now.

I have to drop the trans and find someone to rebuild it. I'm using my local rallycross friends to find a good shop. The modified AWD is all Subaru's. I'm looking forward to being the only Mitsubishi.

Thanks again and I will get some pics up soon

Many transmission parts have long been discontinued. If that trans is the original 90 its even worse. Tim Zimmer of TMZ performance is probably your best bet.
