Resolved 1g new bottom end with 1000 miles on it smokes alot even coming out the breather

so I been driving my car around to put miles on the new bottom end, got about 1000 miles on it and its still smoking a lot and now even noticed its pushing smoke out the breather [not running the pcv system the way it was just have filter on valve cover].

could this all be valve seals? the head was redone about two years ago for my old car but that car had bad rings and always smoked. now the head is on my new motor and it is smoking.

is it possible to do the seals on it without pulling the head

How old is the pcv valve..Its like an 8$ replacement at the local auto parts store.

I Just had this issue I put in a new pvc,but I gotta get my car to crank before I know if its fixed.
 
I didnt replace the pcv but its not that old and as for the ring gap had a shop put it togeather should be what manley calls for gave them all the paper work about the gap had the car running today seems to be alot of crankcase pressure even pushing allittle smoke out of the dipstick thinking the valve seals have to be bad
 
Bad valve stem seals will not cause you to smoke from the dipstick tube.. that would be rings.

if its rings why would it really only start doing this once was broke in? I mean it smoked during break in but not as bad as now I was trying to tune my boost controller maybe that hurt the motor but its not a big turbo only a big 16 g

my old motor had very bad rings 80 psi or less in the one cylinder and it didnt do this could it possibly be that I dont have good pcv system hooked up just have the pcv hooked up to intake and the other outlet just have a filter on it

my motor is a 2.3 stroker

Because the rings didn't seat right. If the rings don't break in well, they tend to go from not so good, to worse.
 
I'm curious how you drove your car during the break in period? I would be taking my car back to the shop if you did everything proper. But you need a proper pcv system to rule out blow-by and see what your compression is.
 
Broke in pretty easy first 500 miles mostly highway doing compression check after work my buddy's car smoked real bad like this was just valve seals tired of this car nothing but problems that's why had a shop do the bottom end didn't want any problems to much money in this motor

Is it possible rings could still seat? just changed oil
 
I may be wrong but depending on your highway speed you could have still been a little to much on a new engine. I've alway been told to somewhat get on the throttle the first 20 minutes or so of break in then baby the whole way. I don't go past maybe 50 when I broke my new motor in.

But I believe that no, if the rings didn't seat properly, your gonna have to tear down and start over again.
 
well did compression test, worst nightmare came true. one cylinder was 125 other one was 115 and the other two where 122.

is it possible the rings are not seated yet? I read on here somewhere couple people said took close to 1500 miles for rings to seat. if you would do a compression test on new motor with unseated rings yet, would compression be low or still be high like it should be broken in?
