1G n/a to 1G turbo mas plug swap

I have a 1992 eagle talon n/a with a turbo setup already installed, i bought the car about a month ago and it has some problems, after scanning it for codes i decided the maf sensor was bad so i have a 2g turbo maf sensor i want to swap into it. but everything ive seen on here dosent match what im trying to do, my connector in the car has 6 wires my turbo connector has 7. can someone tell me what goes where????

Sounds like they never finished the turbo conversion since that's when they would have run the MAF reset line from the ECU to the MAF.

Since you have nothing in your profile, I have to ask how are you going to tune for the 2G Turbo MAF after you run the MAF reset wire from the ECU?

What ECU are you running now?

I have no idea what has been done to this car, i havent looked but i imagine its a factory n/a ECU. i bought the car with a no start problem for cheap, hoping i could get it running and re sell it for some quick cash, once i got it running i found out im in a hole much bigger than i thought. as of now i havent planned on tuning yet, the turbo conversion was poorly done and i am fixing some small problems, boost leaks and wiring issues. i was not aware the car would need to be tuned once the 2g maf was installed, is there a cheap way around this?

If you don't have one you need a turbo ECU before you can go farther.
You'll should also check the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator to see what you have.

Putting a 2G MAF on now is just going to compound your problems.

I agree about the 2g maf. Just throw a stock 1g turbo maf and a turbo ecu in there. You will have to add the reset wire and wire in the turbo maf plug (it has one extra wire) That is easy though, you will just need to run one wire thru the harness to the ecu. You will need to install 2 wires for the knock sensor and wire them into the ecu, and install a knock sensor. Being that it has a non turbo ecu, it likely has non turbo injectors also. To run the turbo ecu and turbo injectors you are also going to have to install an injector resistor pack in the injector harness. If you want the ecu to control boost than you will also need to run wires for the boost control solenoid. Most people just run a manual boost controller though. Being that you are on a non turbo bottom end i would run it off wastegate pressure only.

The car already has a aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator on it and a manual boost controller installed, if i get the 1g turbo maf and turbo ecu are the injectors nessary? or are they just to get max performance for this setup. at this point i still have plans of re selling this car. id much rather have a tsi. i would like the car to run decent but it dosent have to be perfect

I would get stock injectors 450ss since your turbo now.

Word of advice from someone that has done many 1g non turbo to turbo conversions, if you don't know what your doing, and you don't know what was done to the car, now's definitely not the time to start adding more parts. If you search the tech articles here, there is a complete non turbo to turbo conversion article. Read that first, then go over your car and make sure you don't have anything else missing. Then start adding parts. I commend you on your efforts for trying to fix the car, but you need to make sure everything was done correctly to convert the car to turbo first, other wise your going to keep throwing money at it to no avail.

Yes i agree and that is what i am doing at the moment, i tore the turbo setup off and found things like cracked turbo manifold, cracked turbo housing, also some of the intercooler piping has holes rubbed into them, so i was working on fixing the basic things before i move on, and right now im trying to get some basic info on how to proceed, also thank you for the link that should be some help
