Long story short I have a new 2 G Style with the whitelock 16 connector for the tCU. The old connector had the flip ends and depinning is easy. But I can't seem to get the new pins to click all the way in on the new connector. Feels like they should still click into place and not pull out freely. They do lockdown at the white connector pushed in

The attached picture shows where it stops

Ok.. got my own answer.... the terminals are different between the 2.. subtly but different... even though the plastic is 99% the same you have to crimp new style terminals.. 1g wont work
