1g motor in a 2g need help

i just need to know what i have to do to swap a 1g motor into a 98 gst. my friend is going to buy the 98 gst but the motor is bad so he wants to swap in a 1g motor. i have read the vfaq's already but i dont understand why you have to "mod" all the 1g stuff to make it fit. can you not just drop in a complete 1g motor. i know you have to modify the 2g motor mount but what is up with the cas and the 2g ecu. will the 1g ecu not fit. i need help asap and dont have n e more time to search. i am really sorry but i need to find out what has to be done to make it happen. once again i am really sorry for the newbie question that has been burned many times before but like i said he is ready to buy it tomorrow and wants help in getting the motor swapped.n e advice,ideas,facts, help, and definitely patience is appreciated. thanx

But admittedly if you do not have time to search what makes you think you will have time to read all that you are asking for? Maybe your buddy buying the car should read up a little before he jumps into something like this or just pay someone to do it for him. Just my $0.02
