I'm trying to install a manual steering rack in my 1g Eclipse. I have both of the brackets but what do I use for a bushing on the passenger side? As I remember the power steering bushing is to large.

Thankfully soon a solution will become available

I see your working on the drivers side. The passenger side one is much smaller then the power steering rack bushing.

Yeah its a struggle to find a good manual bush to replicate. Maybe if you got some measurements you can supply I could see if we can get that drawn up with some discussions va PM?

I could get you a measurement of rack diameter. Not sure how i could get the outer measurement without taking the current rack out. Which i was trying not to do till i had a bushing.

If the clamp is the same then thats the easy part. I can check part numbers tonight to see if they are. Then the inside should be a single hole without the PS hose passing through it either

Im fairly certain the bracket is different on the manual vs the power steering rack. But I suppose you could make the new bushing to use the power steering rack bracket just with a smaller hole for the rack.

Yes it is correct on both parts, bush and bracket. The DS is all fine and swapped over. The PS bracket is deeper from what I can tell.

It all depends on the shape. The front frames differ from FWD to AWD, but that could possibly be due to the cutout for the transfer case as the difference. FWD with PS and manual steering should house the same location points as the AWD does for the racks to mount to.

So yeah, if you give me some pics if you can and then an OD for the manual rack I can convert the PS bush to fit the manual rack and bracket and see if that works on a PS bracket, if that is an option? Otherwise, we can draw it up better if I try and find one, but it may take some time due to how rare these things are.

But if you opt for the first option of the PS bracket, get this to me asap as I have the others test printing now and can mod this and have one printed out along with the others already being done. Likely you will be the only one for this as these racks are pretty rare to come across
