Vicegrips is about the only way and just twist back and forth.

I have used channel locks to get mine out. Another way I have seen is to pack grease into the hole in the middle of it until its full. Then find something a little smaller than the hole and pound it in with a hammer and the grease will "hydralically" press the bushing out.

I just finished the swap about a month ago. Getting that bushing out was an absolute pain. I originally tried prying it with every screwdriver i had, and then a large prybar. No luck. I then tried to pack it in there with the grease which didn't work for me. I wound up cutting into it with a dremel in different areas until it was weak enough to collapse and pry out with a big screwdriver. I could have had a rare case, but mine was really in there.

Real, brand name vicegrips. I have used them to remove crank bushings, and clamped them onto broken studs and put a pipe on the end of the vicegrips to get them out. The cheap no name ones suck.

Mine must have been really seized, but I tried the vicegrips with no luck. I also tried the "pilot bearing puller" from the parts store, but it was just a little too big of a tool.

Ive had to do this on my friends car, we used the "hydraulic" method. Got a shop paper towel, the thick blue ones you get from autozone, and sprayed with kroil (kinda like pb blaster) and used a socket to shove the paper towel in the center of it, when it was packed in there we used another one and it pressed the bushing out enough to grab it with channel locks and wiggle it out.

Dont think its gonna just pop out, but youll see it move.
