Resolved 1g intake on a 2g head

Just wondering if my 1g intake etc will fit on a 2g head?

Simply put: no.

Different sized runners so its a no go

Ok so the intake won't work how about the exhaust manifold?

the exhaust manifold will work but you will have to enlarge the 2 outer holes. The intake will bolt on and work, it will just cause alot of turbulence due to the rapid change in port size.

The 1g exhaust manifold is a downgrade for 2g's.

The only thing I would take off a stock 1g and put on a stock 2g (besides the block) is the turbo (14b)

Ok so my best bet is to get both a 2nd gen intake and exhaust manifold.
The reason I am asking I found a replacement engine for my POS but its a 1g block and internals with a 2g head without the intake or exhaust manifolds. Freshly rebuilt.

The exhaust manifold will work just fine if you aren't trying to make a dectent amount of power. You can port the 1g exhaust manifold to match the 2g manifold also.

Yeah I would be willing to do that been there a few times. I have to make sure I get this engine but I will know for sure in the next could days. If you hold onto them that would be awesome.

1g manual cams are a very slight upgrade.The intake manifold might be an upgrade.The TB is definatly an upgrade for 2g's.And any 1g turbo is better than the t25.

Agreed, the cams are a slight one but not worth the hassle of install. The manifold is an upgrade, but since it can't bolt up...it's no good. and I totally forgot about the TB

and the BOV (and I'm using a 1g bov )
