This is my first time posting my log results so forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.

Ok I'll try to get a better log. I have some forth gear pulls logged right now from 3500-6000. I don't shift at 7k because i'm running a 14b and it craps out around 6000-6500

I'm having some trouble posting up the log. I can veiw it but it will not let me cut and paste the information. LAst time I just copied it from my Palm but there is a lot more data in this one. What do I do?

How's this? This was a third gear pull at 20psi.

Was that at WOT? Your timing is really high.

Have you checked you base timing? Did you verify that your TPS is reading 100% (or close) at WOT? Make sure that you check the TPS value on the logger and not on the SAFC, since the SAFC calculates the TPS value incorrectly.

The high timing is probably due to the afc 'leanage' and 1gs have aggressive timing maps from the factory so imagine the 2 put together.
You need to address the mid range. Add some fuel from 4k up and do another log. Add more where the knock was higher.
If your mod list is correct, the 660s are killing you. You do not need all that injector and you are having to lean the car out even more than if you had some 550s or even stock injectors. I assume you have a fuel pump.
Also, turning the boost down to tune helps alot.

Yes that was WOT. With my AFC I'm actually in the + range and am adding fuel across the board. I'm also using a MAFT set for 660's. On that log I got a 97% injector duty cycle at 6375rpm. I need to install my Aeromotive AFPR to bring my base pressure down. I added some fuel around 4k and up and logged it again. This one looks better as far as knock is concerned. I'll post it up when I get home. I do need to get a timing light to see where my base timing is too.

The MAFT does the same thing as the AFC so you basicly have the MAFT too leaned out and you are correcting this by adding with the AFC.

Well my MAFT is set up for a 3" GM The Aux/Base is set for 660's, the mid is richened to 6or7, and the WOT is richened to 1. Would this setup be considered lean? My AFC is only corrected +2 to +6 strarting at 3k. I've been having alot of tuning issues since the MAFT install and just can't seem to get her dialed in.

"Set for 660s" means it takes out approximately 31% across the board so it's the same as doing -31 on the afc.

And if I set it to smaller injectors, lets say 450's then I would have to lean out the AFC. Now I understand! Is there anything I can do about it?

Here is the log after I richened it a bit.

It shows a max Injector duty of 94% at 6500 rpm. I have another question too. Why am I not seeing higher MAF signal Hz?

When I had the 2g it would max out the logger at like 1603hz or something. With the GM MAF unit the highest signal I got in the above log was 1528hz at 6250rpm.

I am pretty sure your base timing is off, it should dip way lower than 18 when boost comes in and then slowly rise up. Also, log the TPS (throttle position sensor) next time.

On the hertz thing, the MAFT is lying to the ECU and AFC so you will see lower readings. If you use the AFC only to do the corrections, you will see the correct airflow on the AFC but lower airflow on the logger.

On the correction thing, i would not touch the idle, mid and wot knobs on the MAFT. Instead, I would just set the base to whatever setting gets your fuel trims closest to perfect. And then do the rest with the AFC.

something isn't right, you shouldn't have a low of 17 as timing, especially at 5k rpm where the turbo is already at max boost. As someone said above, check base timing.

I do log the TPS. The log above starts from 100% on the tps and ends when it drops. I can't figure out out how to post up the logs so I have go through them and type the information in. I log everything that is relevent to the car I just post the basics. I'll try re adjusting the MAFT like you said and see what happens from there. I'll get a timing light and check the base out too. Five degrees right? Thanks for all the help!

Don't touch the fuel settings right now. Just get the timing sorted out first.

Didn't I say that in the sixth post, only to have you tell me I was wrong and that it was due to the SAFC / 1g ECU combination?

Anyway, to the original poster, you only need to log timing, knock and rpm. You can log O2 if you want, but that's not really necessary. The more parameters you log, the lower your samples per second will be.

It's more beneficial for us to see more data points concerning knock & timing that it is to look at the TPS value. :thumb:

I know that you said you are having problems posting a log, what program are you running? Also, what OS are you using on your PC?

Totally off topic:

:beatentodeath: <---- Is that new, or is it just me?

Did i hurt your feelings? ROFL

My exact words were "The high timing is probably" meaning probability, I don't see anywhere where I said "spyderturbo007 is wrong"

You were right, base timing is probably off :) I hope that makes it all better.

^^ You guys are funny. My base timing was off. I picked up a light today and checked it out following the VFAQ instructions. It was at 10 BTDC so I bumped it to 5 and its all good now. I also installed my Aeromotive AFPR so I have to retune it all over again. I'm going to try doing what olmytsi suggested and see where it takes me.

I'm using windows xp for my os and I'm using a program called csview to open my log files. I don't have Excel or dreamweaver like the how-to says to use so those instructions don't really help in my situation.

Cool, that's what I thought it was. :thumb:

What logger program are you using? If you can't copy and past as a .txt or .xls file is to do a print screen and post it as a picture.

I'm using MMCD. The csview program doesn't let me copy and paste. I thought about taking a screen shot and posting it as a pic but couldn't figure out how to do it. The only other option I can think would be to print it out and use my scanner get it back on my PC as a picture.

Just a quick question about my tuning. Since I'm using FIC 660's and am having to lean them out with either the MAFT or the AFC it is messing with my timing. What if I dropped the base fuel pressure a few psi? This would lean down the injectors and I wouldn't have to correct so much with the AFC and MAFT therefore it would have less of an effect on my timing?

I got these injectors for free and it's all I have right now so I'd like to make them work as best I can.

How's this. This log was from before I fixed my base timing. I'm just testing out images to see if I can get them posted up and still be readable.

The only things you really need to log are RPM, TPS, TIMING & KNOCK. Plus the less things you log, the higher sample rate you get :)

This one are from today. The timing still doesn't look right to me. Sorry the files are so big.
