For those of us that jsut cant let our NT's go and want to suck as much power as possible......
What is the best header to buy for our car? I have really only been able to find pacesetter headers. I have heard complaints about them though.... Can a few people chime in and let me know what headers they have and how happy you are? Why is pacesetter bashed on?
Thanks
Ben

i have never found a obx header, anyway i have a pace setter header it works fine no probs with mine also chicara(hedmaN) now has a header avalible for 90-94 nt :dsm:

I have a Hedman Chikara, I've had to make several changes to make it fit properly because the flange between the header and downpipe likes to leak a lot. hopefully get it fixed this weekend.

i got a 2g 4g63 nt header (eurospec) laying arounfd here(with downpipe) ,alot of 1g guys upgrade to the 2g header (because its a real header..and not a cracking manifold)

ill be ready to sell it soon (want to paint it and clean it up first) :shhh:

i can make pics for u guys too maybe you can fab one up using the pics

ill post em tomorrow evening - please dont bombard me with emails,if i do decide to sell it,ill post a add :thumb:

its on headman headers website

i have a brand new unused pacesetter header including the downpipe and extension tube all JetHot coated if someone's interested

Just as a warning: I had the Borla/Archer header installed on my 94 Talon for about a year and the only thing it did consistently was crack...and it came with a flex section. I got it from Buschur and it worked well for a while before it blew a primary tube out of the exhaust flange. Buschur was good about welding the thing back together for me that time, but it blew another primary a few months later and I pulled the thing at work and TIG'd all the primaries at the flange. Now I have cracks at the welds further down. I am planning on chuckin' the thing and getting a Chikara. I don't know if this is an isolated incident or not so I just put this out as a warning...
:talon:

well i've got a buddy that has pacesetter headers on his 98 TransAm and i have a pacesetter header on my sunfire and no problems with them at all

extermr motorsports. look at there headers. if i had the money i woulda put em on my car

Right now in eBay are available OBX headers for 1G NT models price is 155$ :thumb:
Item number: 7965303556

I am thinking about bying one for my GS, but I still can't find any good or bad expieriences, only that some say that those actually are for 2G WTF
By that part number provided by seller I can't find anything too

So is there actyally someone having that header on his 1G NT ;)

do the 2g NT headers work on a 1g with no modification? It has to be 4G63 to 4G63 right? Or can it be 4G63 to 420A?

2G head has smaller intake and exhaust holes, it means that header for 2G head doesn't fit 1G head :toobad:

yeah that's a good price for the OBX header but it isn't that price with JetHot coating. To get the JetHot coating put on it will run you around $150 with the coating price and the shipping costs you will incur. i'm givin this header a real good deal at $300 cause i bought it brand new from Pacesetter for $200 and the coating ran me around $165

only if its a 6bolt 1g :shhh: seven bolts (atleast here) were the same..its a pretty popular mod on the 1g nts here.. because the manifolds crack after a while..and the 2g replacement header costs waay less than the 1g manifold

Let me know if anyone picks up one of those OBX's of ebay for $155. Looks like a great deal. I'm still researching so I might try and get one if I find good info/results.

what ever happened to punishment racings non turbo header? or how about a header with a flex section in it, I don't seem to see any of those...

I was told that punishment was closing down it's nt stuff when I tried to ask about the nt maf trans. It didn't fit correctly. In fact, I believe it was hitting the ps pump.

As for the pacesetter, I have had mine for 3 years. After having a few broken bolts and burnt gaskets, I finally had a muffler shop weld in a flex section and have since had no problems for the past year and a half.

A search would tell you, but I'll tell you...My pacesetter wouldn't fit on the studs and the ports were way smaller than stock. Soooo...... I drilled the holes out the best I could, deburred everything and ported the flanges the best I could considering the primary tube is smaller than the exhaust port. If I could have found an uncracked used manifold, I would have just ported that instead, but I couldn't. Also, since the runners for the pacesetter are different lengths, they do "time" the exhaust pulses to flow smoothly (if you port the flange to eliminate bottlenecking).

Are there any aftermarket headers than that come with flex sections or must that be fabricated in after you buy them? and pacesetter's headers, I keep hearing bad stuff all over the board about them... so how are hedman's chikara headers???

the performance from the Hedman is great but I had a lot of problems with blown gaskets and installation. I had to go back to the shop several times and had to get a flex section to try and correct the problems.

Just tried to purchase those OBX headers off ebay... and guess what... after a week of waiting for the guy to communicate with me, he tells me they have NONE in stock and wont have any for about 2-3 months....

so i bought the pacesetters.. lets hope for the best
