Hi i'm about to buy a 1g geabox to put in my 1996 galant pushing 500whp
I wanted to know if someone knows if these gearbox stock will hold about 500whp with semi slicks.
Thankjs

It's not HP that kills transmissions, but torque. That is why clutches are rated in ft*lbs.

Does the spider gear in a 1g is the same as the one in 2g?
Cause i know that the one in a 2g is very weak

hp = torque * RPM / 5252 ;) . If 400ftlbs kills a tranny and the stock rev limit is 7500rpms, then 571whp is the limit. Either can be used when you know what your rev limit is.

I've heard from several sources including jacks transmission that the 1993-1994 are the strongest transmissions. And the issue is after 450ish hp. . . My setup has seen brief bouts over this and is OK.
