1g Front upper strut mounts

I took my car to NTB today to have the upper strut mounts in the front changed out, I have some generic brand adjustable struts (no brand markings on them, red and the adjustment is 4 was and you adjust them at the top of the strut) They call me and tell me that there is 3/4in vertical play in the oem strut mount and tells me I can't use them. I've searched around and pretty much found kyb and oem strut mounts but none of them specify any sort of dimensions. I believe my current mounts are ball pillow mounts, they look like these only different color -->

Would them being pillow mounts affect me being able to go back to normal strut mounts?

Nope, you should be a able to go back to a stock configuration. I ended up just getting some new KYB mounts all around.
