Anyone know what brand these upper strut mounts are?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Those are GC plates. Throw those little black bushing out now. They kill shocks. Use a softer urethane.

Dee - RoadRaceEngineering makes fantastic plates with spherical bearings. Orders of magnitude better than the GC plates.

Thanks for the info. Getting rid of these, got em as a package deal from eBay with two Tein pillow ball mounts. Just wanted to know what they were to post em back up on eBay.

JToby - I don't see said plates on RRE's site...

The RRE sphericals aren't on the website. You have to call. I think they're $95 each.

Ahh very nice. Now I know where my next unburdoned paycheck is going.

Just to be 100% clear: the plates for 2Gs give you more travel than stock (especially if you trim the lower spacer) and take side-force off the shock so it can do its job, but have no effect on camber.

These are designed to accommodate any aftermarket spring/shock combo (with the provision that springs are at least 2.5" in diameter), I assume?

No. You have to tell them which shocks, as different shocks have shafts with different diameters. It's similar to when you get sleeves from GC: you have to tell them which shocks, since different shocks have bodies with different diameters.

Of course, if you combine RRE plates with anything less than Koni Sports, they will probably giggle at you.

Damn, I didn't know you had to specify. I sent them an email order on Saturday, but I didn't know. I guess I'll be giving them a call when I get out of work.

Yes, I'm putting Koni yellows on them.

I'll bet the default spacers are for Konis. Not many people put sphericals on while skimping on the shocks.

Note: you can trim about 3/8" off the lower spacer for more travel (assuming they haven't "fixed" the design by now). You really, really want to do this, especially if are running coaxial hats (which you should).

And before anyone asks: the best place to get coaxial hats is GC. Ask for the flatter of the two designs. You will have to open the hole up a bit for the Konis, but this is easy.

Sorry to whore the thread, but I have another quick question. The ground control kit - will GC sell you the kit without springs, or swap out the springs for Hypercoils? And do the coxial hats replace the top part of the GC kit, or go on top (in between the upper, and the bearing mount)? (see pic)

Yes, GC will sell you just the sleeves. Then get your Hypercoils from a place like Pegasus.

The coaxial hat goes on the shaft, above the welded-on stopper and below the spacer that comes with the RRE plates. It'll be obvious when it's in your hands. You'll also see why you need to trim the spacer, too.

Correction: it seems that GC will not sell you just the sleeves. They did this for me a few years ago, but several people have PM'ed me saying they won't do it now. Oh, well.

True Choice will sell you Koni sleeves, which are very nice. They use 2.25" ID springs, instead of 2.5", but some people actually prefer these, as it leaves more room for tires. And Pegasus will sell you 2.25" Hypercoils, as well as 2.5"
