i dont have enough posts to not be a new member and im not sure if i still have to wait 30 days as a proven member or not to put a want ad in the classifieds but im looking for more then just an eprom ecu

its my understanding that i need an eprom ecu to run DSMLINK (selling my emanage)

what eprom ecu or ecu's do i have the option of running i have a 1992 TSi AWD M/T thank you all in advance and if anyone has one theyd be willing to part with that is in good condition please PM me

also the quick way ive researched on how to quickly ID an eprom ecu is by the E in the lowerright corner of the sticker

thank you all

Any eprom from 91-94 will work on your car. As I understand it most eproms come from the earlier cars ie 90 91 92. Also dont trust the little e in the corner of the case. You need to look at the board itself. Sometimes you will find one that the case was changed and it is not an eprom. I would check the classifieds here or check on ebay.

you could always get one from motoguys but there like $300 or something.. check the classifieds I would say also

will an eprom ecu work from a 92 tsi awd automatic ??? if so im in luck i know where there is one of them but not sure if it will work

I'm not sure about the automatic eprom ecu. But like they said just keep checking the classified section and possibly ebay if it is legit.

Not all 1gs have eproms. Many of them do but not all. And like said above any 91-94 turbo eprom will work doesnt matter if it is manual or automatic.

Heres the link to the dsmlink site for identifying the eproms by serial number
DSMLink - FAQ - EPROM

And have you by any chance checked to see that your car doesnt have an eprom already?

Good Luck :thumb:

I'm glad some people with real knowledge saved this thread. Not all 1G's had eproms. I don't know the ratio, but most that I've checked have been non-eprom. Check the board!

If you are running DSMLink an auto will not be a problem, but remember that the automatic 1G's came with smaller injectors and if you're using any piggyback in the mean time you will have to compensate differently on the auto ecu.

I was told for 1g's it's usually the cars that are built at the begining of each year that have the eprom ecu's, then they swap over to non eprom. Though this probably won't help you determine what you have, so like was said just pop yours open to see what you have.

mine did not have an eprom and everyone i found today at the junk yards all but 1 were non eprom so as far as all 1gs are eprom DEF NOT i know that for sure after today. i searched and found a little info on what i was looking for saying it should work so i went and got it im switching to dsm link ( i was informed that autos are set up for the small injectors) but with the dsmlink that will take that out of there and only know what i tell it so thank you to all !!! somewhere very informative some were sending me down the wrong road

but thanks all who tried to help
