Alright I've run into a big problem, I currently own a 99 Mirage 4g63 swapped!

Problem car was wired with all 1g stuff engine harness and exterior harness for headlights and such. Other problem emissions, can not pass no OBD2 port. I got around it for 1 year and that's it. The reason I'm asking about the ECU is I'm running AEM EMS, 1g of course.

Real questions, can I swap in a 2g engine harness and not have to change the headlight harness or do i need to change that as well?
Second, can I use the 1g AEM EMS ECU in the car? I know I would need a stock 2g ECU to pass emissions.

That sounds confusing i would just fnd the harness for your specific needs, aem, i dont even know anyone who has one of those.

well ive got an aem full stand alone engine managment i could possibly get a 2g engine harness and what not and swap it but i really dont want to have to buy a 2g aem over 1k maybe 800ish if i find a used one...

You can change the engine harness without changing the exterior harness. To use the aem you would need to make a jumper harness. Get a burnt 2g ecu and remove the plugs and sauder 1g engine harness plugs on it. Then you could swap ecus easly.

It still won't solve your problem as the obd port still won't work with an AEM AMS. it doesn't output a signal to the port and you still won't pass emissions.

yeah i was going to keep a stock 2g ecu injectors and mass air for when i have to go for emssions and then just swap the aem ems after its passed

In the ecuflash section is a fairly long and detailed thread about swapping an evo8 ecu into a 1g. It is a bit of work but completely doable. A 2g ecu will be very similar but you'll have to either use an H8 ecu or evo8 ecu depending on what smogging will allow in order to get rid of some CELs and make the car run well.
