By accident I missed a shift the other day and I went way over the redline.:ohdamn: But then in my head I was thinking wait... doesnt my car have a stock rev limiter? I have a 93eclipse so do 1g eclipse's dont have it only 2g's?

what the hell , I went waaaaayy over the redline I hit around 8k and still no rev limiter. My car had a JDM 4G63 swap before I bought it so idk if that has something to do with it or if something isnt connected idk. I truly think it doesnt have one But tomorrow I'll try again.

...You think that's the best idea? LOL

well im not gonna go out tomorrow and floor it to 9k just to 7500rpm like 'my1gdsm' said. I just want to know if my car has one or not cause if it doesnt I know someone that can hook me up with a MSD 6A ignition so I'll have overrev protection and I'll have 2step LOL))). I just want protection. because if my car had more work to it I coulda easily ####ed my motor.

Your protection my friend, is in your right foot.

+1

Just watch your revs, that easy LOL. If you're on the street, you should shift way before that anyway. If you're on the track, then you've already lost if it bounces off the limiter before a shift.

Besides, if you can get the MSD hooked up and all that, just do it anyway. You don't need a factory rev limiter to show that the MSD is a good choice.

I agree, this is your most sensible rev limiter, especially in combination with coordinating your left foot (the clutch) in the shifting process. Even though accidents happen, keep practicing your shifting techniques, and you will have less accidents..."perfect practice, makes perfect.":)
