1g cv axles...will non ABS axles work for ABS car?

I'm getting axles today as both axle boots are ripped and the joints are clicking badly. All the parts stores have them for a manual tranny, but a non-ABS car. So can I get the non ABS axles and make them work? I know there is a sensor ring, but can I put that ring on the non-ABS axles?

BTW, my ABS is hooked up but my light has been on for a while so I don't think it works anyways.

Quick help needed, thank you in advance! I gotta get my winter beast up to par before it snows!

You can use the non abs axles, but just pull the fuse to keep the abs light off. Not sure if the ring can be swapped over to non abs axles. If the car is nessisary for you to get to work,ect... Id just put the non abs axles in, and pull the abs fuse. I persoanlly have no use for abs, Im use to not having it, and all it does for me, is allow one more thing to go wrong, and clutter the engine bay.

The light could be on due to debris getting inbetween the abs sensor ring, and closing the gap up due to the ripped cv rubbers.

Yes you can. If you want to eliminate abs though, remove all the necessary things and if you ever do the front wheel bearings remove the sensor on the knuckle.

Does anyone have anymore input on this. I too need to do my front Cv Joint's and all I can find is non ABS. My ABS works fine and I would like to keep it. One of the guys at napa talked about changing the ring over but I would like to hear it from a TUNER rather than a napa employee.

Done it couple times ,but on customers cars never on the talon,you can try one first and if the ring/reluctor does not fit them you can just take the axle back.Guess you gonna have to find out the hard way.I feel bad for you guys olympic auto parts over here got them $65.00 brand new.
