1g clutch pedal question

im doing an automatic to manual swap on a 1g eclipse gs (fwd 1.8)

now i put my clutch pedal assembly up. without the clutch master lines connected should my clutch pedal spring to the floor and not return when pushed?

the spring on the clutch pedal assembly was taken out and put back on and i dont think it was put on correct. Shouldnt my pedal spring back up instead of spring to the floor? or does the hydrolic pressure push the pedal back up?

i just ran out to look at mine, and the spring pulls it toward me, off of the floor. with it reversed, it would be like riding your breaks all day long.

The pedal should stay on the floor without the rest of the system attatched. For example, has anyone had the clutch slave cyl fail? Where did the pedal go? It drops to the floor and you need to pull it back up manually. Then it will stay up. To make sure everything is attatched correctly I would suggest you find a shop manual and see if there is a picture. If you can't find one, Email me and I will check my Mitsu manual or crawl under my dash and take a picture to send you.

yes it will stay on the floor until you have everything hooked up and working...dont panic
