Is there any other hood from another car that would fit onto a 1g 92 gst my girl wants a hood without a bump and hers is thrashed so were lookin for one anyways.

Just a thought.

Pretty sure the bump is there because of the the timing belt cover.

But don't de-bump your hood man.

How would you feel if someone took your balls and gave you a vagina?
NOT VERY GOOD!

If it's a 4g63 or 4g63t motor you have to have the bump to make room for the cam gears.

I don't believe it won't clear cam gears. Without bump

I'll be looking for a 1.8 hood for now thanks.

And its a gst so 4g63t

It won't work. It won't clear the cam gears and they never made one for a 92-94 dsm anyway.

then why the hell doesent my gvr4 have a bump on the hood ?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!

oh yeah i went there

but really i told her cause of the cam gears and she said she dont mind the bump to much.

but its really confusing me

im gonna go take some clearence measurments

Calm down there guy..I would just get another stock hood unless it's just paint issues, then just sand it down and respray it..But carbon fiber hoods are always a great way to go..It's just pricey..

Try taping a piece of aluminum foil to the bottom side of the hood under the hump. Keep tension on it so it stays flat and doesn't just get pushed up into the hump. Then close the hood and see if the foil rips. I will put money on the fact that it will.

hah

you actually make me wanna take detailed pictures to show you the damage to this hood.

its got an axe mark in it ball pin hammer strikes from the inside of the hood...(unless previous owner hucked a rod....or 4)

and hood is halfway done threw sanding someone thought they could bondo over it..... not gonna happen.

il make measurments tonight me and my girl are celebrating our 3 year annv. today

hahaha you better paypal me a dollar.

good idea il try later tonight

Wouldn't be the first time, but if you look at the CF hoods you'll see that a lot of them are lower than the "bump."
The entire carbon hood is raised slightly in order for adequate clearance instead of adding the bump.

- Good luck getting a 90-91 hood to fit a 92-94 car without welding something in place of the flip-up headlight holes.

- Good luck getting a bumpless SOHC 1.8 hood to close over a DOHC 2.0 valve cover.

Nobody gives a shit.

That pointless statement proves just how far of an off-topic bitchfest this thread has become on one of the oldest topics of discussion out there. It's headed to the Graveyard for all of the reasons outlined here....but feel free to start another thread with pics of a bumpless 1GA hood installed on your 1GB car.
