I did a search but couldn't find the information I need. My master cylinder is toast in my 92 TSi AWD and I need to find a replacement.

Mitsu ASA shows a few different options for my model car. I'm assuming I will need to order #3 or #4 but am unsure as to the difference. Again, I'm assuming abs vs non-abs but physically speaking, what's the difference if the bore size is 1"?

For what it's worth, I called Mitsu regarding pricing on these and the difference is $120 vs $175.

If anyone has any other suggestions for better master cylinders, let me know. My set-up is just a stock 2-piston brake with new pads and rotors. I called for pricing on the 3G master cylinder but Mitsu wants $300 for that so no.

As far as Ive found, 15/16" is for the single piston brakes on early fwd/awd turbo cars. Im not certain of the differences between ABS and non ABS equipped cars regarding the master cylinder, but I do know that 1" is the preferred bore size for the dual piston brakes as that's what the car came with. On my car, Ive got a master cylinder from Advanced auto, and its just a 15/16" master with my two piston calipers, and honestly, it feels nice and Ive had it for years with no issues.

Well it looks like all these master cylinders are all interchangeable but the difference in prices makes me confused as to the actual differences. I'll likely end up ordering #4 in the list above. I'll report back if it works. I promise! There's too much information on this site without resolutions.

Well, as far as I have seen, they all will bolt up, except for the 7/8" one that I believe came on some of the 1G NT cars with the funky looking brake booster. If you want to get one for 40- 50.00, check out Advanced. I don't remember what brand I purchased, but it has lasted me years so far, trouble free and has a lifetime replacement warranty. One of the only parts store parts Ive ever seen actually work hehe...

Well that number didn't work. I can't believe it's this hard to source and locate a damn OEM brake master cylinder. I don't want to go aftermarket because OEMs last forever if taken care of. Anyone want to throw me a bone as to where I can buy a brand new OEM unit?

I found some shifty looking web pages with options but they don't state OEM nor provide part numbers to confirm.

Is there a difference between brake master cylinders between ABS and non-ABS cars? According to the web pages and Mitsu ASA, there is.
