1g BOV problem?

I'm not sure if my BOV is functioning properly. I had the pipe that it is attached to off the other day(stock pipe) and noticed that the valve appeared to be open. I was not sure if this is normal or not? Would the valve be open because it opened when I stopped moving to shut the car off? Or should it still be closed at idle?(before the car was shut off) I would guess that it should be closed even at idle but I wasn't sure. Thank you for any help.

I think you have a messed up bov. It should stay shut.

Blow off valves will tend to be slighly open at idle. It is completely normal.

You would know it if it didn't shut. Do a boost leak test and it will tell you if its leaking or not.

I think hes trying to say when he took off his bov, it was slightly open.

you could always crush it

You could crush it as mentioned above. If your sketchy about your bov being slight open. Crush it and it should have enough spring tension to keep that bov close.
