1991 TSI AWD 2.0L. Plans, make shy of 900whp with c16 and meth. I wanan make the v8s nervous when I come around :thumb:.

This is a 2.0 motor, Manley Pistons .020, Manley I Beam Rods, Balanced crank, ACL main and rod bearings, Balanced shaft removed. 5 angle port & polished head, 272 BC cams, AEM cam gears, BC springs and retainers, revised lifters, brozne val. guides. JMF drag intake with a q45 90mm TB, Tial Q BOV, ETS Ultra Pro Race intercooler, custom intercooler pipes, koyo rad, gates hoses, cop, aeromotive a1000 pump, aem fuel rail, fic bluemax 1750, FIC easytune, aeromotive fpr kit, jaz full cell, avid motor mounts, borg warner s372 with race cover, rm sway bars, dnp manifold with tial 38mm wastegate, fully built IPT transmission with end clutch kit, b&m transcooler, welded center diff, roadsurge shiftbox, custom 4 inch downpipe, tein ssp coilovers, front n rear strut bar, poly subframe brushings, having 386 make me a custom carbon fiber sunroof, carbon fiber hood, fiberglass driver seat,DSS Driveshaft, 4 bolt rear, 16 enkei alloy rims , aem alternator pulley, dsmlink, dynatek ignition, Jay Racing Active Rear Toe Eliminator, jay racing alternator relocation kit, gm maf, meth stage 2 kit, morso oil breather, aem wideband, aem oil pressure, aem boostcontroller with upgraded bar, greddy turbo timer, jmf race bumper, so much I missed and cant think of right now but this would give you a good idea.

Same turbo I have.. few concerns.

You are going to need a divided manifold to spool it decently. The DNP is divided flange, but exhaust pressure can flow freely between each side through the wastegate runner. I would recommend tearing it off, and adding to wastegate flanges to make it truly divided, or going with another manifold. Since you already have the downpipe made for that, get the JHRacing one. It has almost identical turbo placement to the DNP one. I know a guy selling one brand new, PM if you would like it. He was looking for 725 shipped.

Also, are you joking with those cams? You will be lucky with 600whp. Upgrade the crappy 280's, and get lucky with 700. The BC grinds aren't worth the blank they are machined on, even when degreed properly. Go with the HKS or Kelford 280-288 grinds, depending on what you plan to rev too. Also, check out the FP 4R's, or thew 11's if you an find them.

Change those things, and you should be good to go.
 
Im sure I would be fine just where im at with this build and most of the parts on here I had because I was only shooting for 600whp and changed my mind last minute. Also to me it seems like all you are saying is go better which = better which really isnt so.
 
You should have no problem reaching 600hp with that setup then, with room to improve. However, I do not understand the last part of your post?

If you are talking about cams, those cams are absolute junk. BC makes good valvesprings and stroker kits.. but that is about it. I had the 280s.. and they were absolutely horrible. The HKS 272's I have now ran circles around them (low, mid, and upper RPM's).. and they have less of a duration.

If you were talking about the manifold, it will spool that turbo about 800 RPM's sooner with a divided manifold.. not a manifold that is "styled" after one and has a divided flange. I do not know what A/R you have on the turbine side, but mine spooled 20 psi at 4900 rpms with the 1.10 AR. I would expect around 4600 with the .90 A/R. Also, this was with the 80mm turbine wheel.

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice build.. but you won't come close to your 900whp mark without changing those few things.. I'm not trying to be an ***, but keep you from having a let down when you dyno it.
 
I understand where you are coming from but I rather see where my talon stands how it is now. I will make alot more changes later on, dont wanna keep changing things around since my son is going to be born any day now. If I was rich than I would of def changed more things around, plus this is my first Talon.
 
Sounds good then. I can guarantee you a few things..

1. You are going to love that turbo.
2. You will hold the record for highest horsepower with those cams

And, as I mentioned, when your son is a little older, and money is a little looser, the JHR manifold should bolt up without needing any (or very little) fabrication to the downpipe.

I dnt feel they are junk also, there are just other cams that perform better.

Well just about everything is brand new. Just go like this, tranny work around 5k, motor and head another 4k. All you have to do now is take everything under the hood, interior, exterior, and add that up ROFL

If anyone has ever ran BC's back to back with another camshaft, they will know what I'm talking about.

And you can't just drop them in, I mean each degreed according to their respective cam card.

As for the Kelford 280's, I haven't read too much about them. I am curious to see how they perform against the 272's, even though they have a longer duration, their lift is significantly lower. The Kelford 272's ramp much more aggressive than the 280s, which is why they outflow all the other 272's, and some 280's.
