I went to start my 1g 4G63T Motor I have in a Kit car and it cranks but no spark or fuel being injected. I am guessing I need to connect something more so the ECU will know to fire but I am not sure what. the MAF is not connected which i was told it would still start. the connector to the alternator is not plugged in and probably a few other things are not. I have the constant, switch on, and start power connected to the ECU. Is there a sensor that I might not have connected which would make it not start?

Do you have the fuel resistor plugged in?
Heres a link to what the resistor looks like http://www.mirage-performance.com/Mitch/Silver1995MirageLS/Fuel/dsm-resistorpack-001.jpg

here is one of the plugs i dont know what it is for

The top triangular plug goes to the AC pump if I remember right, but it's also right in the area of your coil packs, so check that connection. The bottom one looks like the knock sensor, but that wouldn't affect fuel or spark. Do you have the cam sensor hooked up properly? That's my first thought that sends signals for both fuel and spark. There's also a transistor right by the coil packs, but that plug is flat and identical to the 2G MAS plug.

I checked the coil pack it has power when the key is on. the cam sensor is plugged in but can it go bad? the resistor is too. O I forgot to mention I don't have the body wiring harness if that would affect it

do you hear the fuel pump cycle up and prime when you go to start?

Pull the cam sensor and spin it you should hear pump kick on injectors click and cool would fire if cas is good also I come to learn recently a bad coolant temp sensor
Could do the same thing u described

make sure the cas is on the 180 degree mark. first make sure the engine is TDC, then remove the cas and make sure the notches are lined up. is your engine a 1st gen 6 bolt or seven bolt? because if its a seven bolt then that triangle plug could go to your crank angle sensor.
