1G 4g63 n/t vs 4g63 t

k well i have owned a 95 gsx and a 99 rs... so i understand the whole 420a and 4g63 difference and how they are completely different... but my next project i found a 90 laser with a lot of blow by so i figured i might pick it up do a rebuild with some different internals. but heres my question... the 2gs have 2 diff motors... i noticed both 1g have the 4g63 except one is turbod. are they different? can i put 1g turbo rods on the 1g non turbo 4g63? i guess i just dont understand why they have the same name. ne help would be great. thanks

The short blocks are the same except for the pistons and rods. Also the NT block didn't come with oil quirters but those aren't needed. And the heads are the same except for the cams.

so if i wanted to take the 1st gen turbo rods with some 2g pistons the 1g turbo rods will fit the 1g n/t? correct?

Yes the crank and the block are the same for non turbo and turbo cars.
