Okay i drove my 98 gsx all day today fine, when i got home i shut her down and walked away for about 2 hours, came back to move her in the garage and it wont turn over. When i turn the ignition on all the lights on the dash come on and it just makes a click noise everytime i turn the key coming from right behind the radio.
New Starter
New starter relay
Brand new battery
Disabled the clutch push in safety start thing.

Still having the problem any ideas?

check if the alt is charging. I had a problem like this but it wouldnt spin the starter, it would engage, and click like a dead battery. maybe bad ignition switch?

I can't say for absolute certain on the 2G since I have a GVR4, but there is a three prong connector on the passenger side rail in the engine bay. The largest, "bottom" wire is a black wire, maybe a stripe, and running 12v to that wire will kick over the starter, no matter what. It bypasses everything including the ignition switch and starter relay. If you have the key in the on position, you run 12v to that wire, and the starter hasn't totally S'd the bed, the car is gonna turn over, it's a promise.

Like I said, I don't know if the 2G has that connector, but the 1G and GVR4 do for sure. It is located near the clutch line holder assembly.

mine did that once and it was the connector on top of the starter so i just cleaned it up and reconnected it and i havent had a problem since

It wound up being the factory Alarm messing with the starter relay....

The Small green and Brown Wire going into the start relay under the radio... A quik snip with some Dikes and she fired right up..

I' ll track down the alarm problem some other day..

Last time I had that happen it was my anti theft that went off maybe another possibility if ## cars equipped with it.

same! i'm ripping that piece of shit out tomorrow as soon as i wake up! its keeping me from driving my first DSM and its sucks monkey balls

will this help me?

when i turn the key:
all the dash lights are on and the radio works
i hear one click under the dash (i think)
i hear the injectors fire
the started doesnt crank

what i did:
last night i set off the alarm by accident and i started it to try to turn it off, so i disconnected the battery to turn it off.

the next day:
i reconnected the battery and tried to start her up and it just clicks and nothing else happens.
i cleaned all the battery and ground terminals, didnt fix anything.
i tried entering the 7677 code with the brake pedal to bypass the Immobilizer, didnt work.
searched for a valet switch, are none.

replaced:
brand new battery today, didnt solve anything.

wound up being the single small wire going to the spade on starter was extreamly loose..
